The Primordial Gods
The Primordial Gods are a class of immensely powerful beings which arose as the result of the exile of Zarkutha and Gazzilda from the higher planes, because of their illicit union, which resulted in the creation of the Twin Gods Haztur(“The King in Yellow”) and Chault. By the decree of the Celestial Gods and the Cosmic Dragons, Gazzilda and Zarkutha were expelled to an abstract dimension known as “The In-Between”, and their children were to be aborted. Gazzilda convinced the Celestials to allow one child, Haztur, to live, though he would never be spoken of, or acknowledged to exist. Chault, the aborted twin, was cast into an endless void of nothingness, devoid of thought and perception.
In retaliation, Gazzilda and Zarkutha created a plot to get revenge on the Cosmic Dragons and Celestial Gods. They first created the Crown of Haztur, using the power of their new son, the King in Yellow, and used it to drive the most powerful terrestrial dragon insane with Greed and Paranoia, which led to the Dragon War and the Extinction of the Dragons. When this was accomplished, they then channeled their power and the power of their children into creating the God known as Ssath-Ygga, the Primordian, who became the new ruler of Corporean Plane for 2 Aeons following the Dragon War. With him, he brought his agents, the Vrilithids, also known as “the Burrowers”, and the Ssathrax, a race of powerful Gnoll-Serpent monsters, who took control of the new world left in the aftermath of the Dragon War. They hunted and enslaved the humanoid races, until they were finally overthrown by the Corporean Gods, when the humanoid races evolved sufficiently to stand up to their tyranny. When Ssath-Ygga was destroyed, he split into the two evil Gods Sseth and Ygg, and the Ssathrax likewise split into Ssath(Ssethi snake people) and Ygdarians(Gnolls).
