The Cosmic Dragons
The Cosmic Dragons are a group of powerful immortal entities that move between the planes, and act as connective conduits for the interaction of different dimensions of reality. The Cosmic Dragons are at a level of power equivalent to The Corporean Gods, and originally were more powerful, but The Corporean Gods have gradually matured and now have more influence on physical reality.
The Cosmic Dragons are unfathomably powerful beings who channel the Cosmic Forces between planes. They affect basic forces of the universe such as time, color, and explosive forces of the cosmos. The Cosmic Dragons are extremely intelligent, as were their spawn, the Dragons of The Corporeal Plane, who were akin to the Avatars of these Godlike beings. As in other universes, the Dragons are defined by their Chromatic Colors, and form alliances of Good, Law, Evil, Neutrality, and Chaos, based on their lineage. While dragons are now extinct on the material plane, their legacy is still revered, especially by the Draconian humanoid races. Legends tell that some of these Great Dragons still exist, in secret places untreaded by mortals for millenia.
At the beginning of creation of the Corporeal Plane, the Cosmic Dragons seeded the Procession with dragons, spawned throughout the solar system. Some of the moons of the Myriad are in fact, dragon eggs. The Dragons of the Corporeal Plane were initially the dominant species, and ruled over the planets. Each Cosmic Dragon was represented by an Avatar in the material plane: an Ancient Dragon which was considered the Herald and Child of its’ Cosmic Progenitor. These ancient Avatars were held to represent and speak for the Cosmics. After the Dragon War, the Dragons were extinguished from the Myriad in a violent cataclysm, and were supplanted by humanoids. The Cosmic Dragons were driven from the Corporeal Plane, and went into a state of hibernation between the planes, where they continue to exist, but are rarely revealed. The Cosmic Dragons and their avatars are still worshipped as Gods by many Corporean humanoid races, who were spawned by the Cosmic Dragons to carry on their legacy, when Dragons were driven to extinction on the Corporeal Plane in the Dragon War.
In addition to leaving a Legacy Race, each dragon species left behind unique magical materials in the form of mystic gems, elements, and other materials, that are extremely valuable and often imbued with magic power. Gold and Silver are two of these materials, and are the foundation of humanoid commerce in most P.C. society.
