Welcome…

Map of Myricosa

You have discovered the website of the fantasy realm known as the Myriad. This realm is a setting developed for use in RPG campaigns to offer a diverse and rich experience for DMs and players who wish to be inspired for exciting and detailed adventures. The Myriad Compendium is a tome of maps, characters, groups, and creatures based on the homebrew campaign of the author. I utilize AI art extensively to offer as an immersive experience as possible. The main world for the adventure setting is Myricosa – an Earth-like world that is shaped like a polyhedral 20-side die. There are other worlds throughout the Myriad universe, each shaped like a different polyhedral die. These shapes represent facets of the planets that can be randomly rolled to determine a starting point for an adventure quickly. Roll tables can be used to create unexpected adventures quickly, that can leverage the rich lore of each region to develop complex plots.

The Myriad Setting is influenced by many different fantasy authors and artists. I try to maintain a feeling of the traditional and familiar monsters and species from Dungeons and Dragons, while adding to the Mythos with unique species, NPCs, Gods, and societies. The Myriad Setting I envision as a tool to help DIY Gamemasters offer an alternate world that is both a familiar and coherent environment, but also a place of foreign and unsuspected surprises. This setting draws heavily upon Cthulu Mythos, Soulsborne video game lore, George R.R. Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice Series, Conan novels and movies, Middle Earth Mythos, and the traditional mythologies of Earth, as well as Gary Gygax original Dungeons and Dragons monsters and modules. I hope it will offer a broad range of encounters to assist Homebrew DMs such as myself. Although I have illustrated this compilation heavily using AI art, the ideas and characters are all original, and I have put in countless hours to produce art that is representative of the inhabitants of this realm as I imagine them to be, in vivid color. I believe the AI serves to enhance the overall detail of the world. All maps, cities, characters, and descriptions were created by me, and are meant to enhance the realism of the setting.

I hope this work will serve to help to inspire others and grow the RPG community.
